The CFO Consultant fulfills the function of “guide” on the accounting team by doing the following for clients:
Provide strategic financial consulting, coaching and data-driven insights, all of which support client decision-making to capture opportunities and manage risks. This includes, but is not limited to:
Recurring Services
- Serving as the financial voice in the strategic planning process
- Creating and evolving finance policies, including setting and monitoring internal controls
- Interpreting financial reports, both historical and future-facing, and presenting insights and strategies to Management at least weekly
- Issuing monthly financial statements for Management use
- Liaising with outside financial parties such as income tax preparer, audit/attestation/compilation CPA, factors, banks, and other capital sources
- Negotiating with vendors, customers, and other parties according to CEO-authorized policy on an as-needed basis
- Overseeing quality control and handling technical escalations
Project Services
- Producing custom future-facing tools: dynamic financial models, 13-week rolling cash flow forecasts, annual budgets, and dynamic dashboards
- Business planning
- Provide GAAP and policy support for accounting system tuning projects
